Post #1: Goals and Objectives

Goals

  • Provide an overview of educational technology, including the roles and uses in schools today.

  • Increase self-confidence in effectively using technology as a personal productivity tool and integrating appropriate technologies into instruction (lessons/activities/assessment).

  • Provide a systemic & recurring catalyst for new thinking & nurture innovative thinkers to become leaders.

  • Provide timely and sufficient tech and curricular support.
Objectives
  • The student will increase their ability to use appropriate technologies as a personal productivity tool and in the classroom.

  • The student will discuss advantages and disadvantages of using technology in the classroom.

  • The student will complete a project that engages their students using technology as a learning tool.

  • The student will self-assess the effectiveness and value of their project.

  1. I find more and more that any teacher tha is not computer literate is a teacher who is ineffective. Or in the very least not as effective as they could be. Education relies so heavily on technology now that the students are quickly surpassing their instructors in this area. All teachers should be required to update their computer skills as often as any others that they have to be continually refreshing.
